means oven proof and is normally only found on various ceramics. Sometimes however it may also be found on items which appear to be porcelain, at least at first glance.
Various manufacturers from Germany had patents on oven-proof porcelain derivates. Just to name two, the Mitterteich AG (Mitterteich, Bavaria) for example marketed their items under the trademark Porzeton whilst the Schirnding AG (Schirnding, Bavaria) sold theirs under the trademark KOSAG.
