Gräfenroda

[1] Porzellanfabrik Gräfenroda Bartholome, Stade & Co. (1910 until 1919)

Established early in 1910 by two businessmen with neither a solid background nor great experience in porcelain production whatsoever, the factory soon run into various difficulties and therefore was already sold after not quite a decoade. There are no known marks from this period of ownership; the product range apparently covered "... household items and luxury goods ...".

[2] Porzellanfabrik Gräfenroda-Ort Reinhold Voigt OHG (1919 until 1971)

Even though the proprietorship of Reinhold Voigt (who was married to Marie Voigt née Barop) lasted so long there appears to be not much documentation around. Some sources mention that they had an own decoration studio, others merely comment on the number of workers employed: around 1930 the factory had 75 employees, a count which dropped to 32 in 1937 and went up to 43 again 1949.

[3] VEB Porzellanfabrik Gräfenroda (1971 until 1978)

Following the nationalization in 1971 the factory was independent for a few years before it was put under supervision of the VEB Porzellanmanufaktur Plaue and had to (as usual in such cases) drop its own marks in favor of those used by the larger combine. Constant neglect of required modernization and repairs eventually lead to a large fire which completely destroyed the factory in 1978 and so the VEB Porzellanmanufaktur Plaue continued to use the molds once created by Voigt.
