(heirs) is sometimes used as part of a company name and often indicates that the new proprietor stood in direct family relationship and inherited the factory or company after the passing of the former proprietor. However it was also used in cases in which the factory or company ownership was transferred to a non-family related person following the testament of the former proprietor.
