The term Nachfahren ("descendants") is sometimes used as part of a company name, indicating that the new owner was related to the previous owner and either took over the business during the lifetime of the previous owner or inherited it after the death of the previous owner. Releated terms are Erben ("heirs") or Nachfolger ("successor[s]").
